Wow............3 days and counting till we leave for Vegas!

I finished my shopping, laundry and some packing today. Got a pedicure and I am doing my hair tonight.

I finally got the right color for it.  Those of you who have seen me lately, know I have had a bad time with my hair the past few months. In spring I usually lighten my hair and put in highlights. Well I got the wrong color (I  saw the red on the box and "totally" missed the mahoghony part. Plus one of the highlights was put on too thick, so I looked like an Irish skunk.
A month later I actually paid 100 bux to have it all lightened, cut and highlighted correctly. Well the girl didn't mix the right color and it came out darker than when we started and the highlights weren't right either. So that time I ended up looking like Morticia Adams on steroids.
This time I am doing it myself.........lets hope for the best.
I made hamburgers the other night. Our neighbor Jack grilled them for us and we ate at my friend Nells. I used my simple recipe that the kids always loved. I will post it after this.
Well thats it for today. I'll let you know the "hair" results tomorrow.

Directions

1.Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat. Mix together the ground beef, garlic, onions, salt, pepper, and basil. Divide into four balls, and flatten into patties.

2.Cook the patties for about 3 to 5 minutes on each side, or to desired doneness. The internal temperature should be at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C). Remove from grill and place onto hamburger buns. Top with desired toppings and condiments.

July 5th 2010

We all lived thru the 4th without the kids in this town burning it down, but according to the news today they did try. God bless our firemen and police force.
I used the clippers to trim down Bear today, he now looks like a barber on meth got hold of him. But he also looks a bit cooler.
Five days and counting till the Vegas trip.
I'll keep you posted

July 4th, 2010. Another summer half gone, and I still havn't had the heart to get in a bathing suit. I am at the point in my life and weight where I look better naked than in a bathing suit. Naked everything just hangs, but put it in spandex and it all bunches, balls and rolls.
One week from now we will all be on the road to Vegas. We are going to visit mom and dad. They can no longer travel comfortably, so we are going to them.
Myself, my daughter Lea, my son Michael, the redneck (my son-in-law Mike) and all six grandkids in a 15 passenger van. Its going to be National Lampoons Vacation, redneck style.
I will be doing this like a journal each day. Pray for us that we have a safe trip and no one kills anyone else. I don't usually drink but I am making an exception for this trip. It will be loads of fun, and educational and fun for the kids. Thats my mantra, LOL
Thats it for now. Happy 4th of July, more tomorrow.
